fresh nagios and process warning

Post by jriker1 »

Just installed nagios 4.1.1 in a VMWare instance and on CentOS 7 core minimal install. Immediately following and still ongoing getting:

PROCS WARNING: 297 processes with STATE = RSZDT

I have not installed anything ele or done anything yet with the nagios box. Should it be showing this many services OOTB?

Thanks.

That shouldn't be a problem as long as you're not noticing performance issues. You could look at ps -ef and see if there is something that looks off. I would just change your thresholds if it's an unmodified image.

Thanks for the reply. I did up the threshold. Figured being the default OS that Nagios uses for their images the threshold would already be set to accommodate it so wanted to make sure nothing was wrong. Since I upped the threshold all is good and it's running fast.

Thanks.

It can vary based on your environment. Glad to see it's working though!

I'll close this thread out now, but feel free to open a new one if you need assistance in the future.
