Post by Francesco »

Hi Team,
Selecting "Report-->Data Visualizzations-->Alert Stream" I get have a look to the attached image.
Same result on different browsers Google Chrome,Mozilla FireFox, Internet Explorer.
The page shows "plug-in (plug-in NPAPI )not supported".
Could you suggest me the correct steps?
which Web Browsers Nagiox XI frontend supports?

Details about my installation:
Nagios XI 2014R2.7 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.7 (Santiago)
Google Chrome version 46.0.2490.86 m
Mozilla FireFox version 42.0
Intenet Explorer version 11.0.10240.16431
Java version 1.8.0_65

Thank you
Francesco

Are you running and modifications or adblockers on Firefox? This is working just fine for me, on the same version of Firefox, IE11, and Chrome 46.0.2490.86. Can you open up the console (F12) and see what it says when you load the report?

Hi hsmith,
I have added the URL of my Nagios XI web console on java control panel (tab security).
Now on Internet Explorer and Mozilla FireFox the Alert Stream work properly.
On Google Chrome don’t work.
Thank you

Can you check your java / flash plugin in Chrome? You may have multiple versions installed which can cause the page to not display.

What plugins are listed under -

Code: Select all

chrome://plugins
I believe alert stream uses Java.

Ah, the reason it isn't working is because of Chrome.
Chrome no longer supports NPAPI (technology required for Java applets)

The Java plug-in for web browsers relies on the cross platform plugin architecture NPAPI, which has been supported by all major web browsers for over a decade. Google's Chrome version 45 (scheduled for release in September 2015) drops support for NPAPI, impacting plugins for Silverlight, Java, Facebook Video and other similar NPAPI based plugins.
