Hello,
I imported my Core configuration in a new XI system.
Service checks are running properly, but no host check is done for the 500 hosts imported from Core...
I had a similar issue for a couple hosts on Core ( https://support.nagios.com/forum/viewto ... =7&t=35926 ) but it had been fixed by setting the enable_environment_macros parameter to 0.
But it didn't help on the XI server.
All the host checks are scheduled to be executed within a few minutes : the Next Check time is correct. But instead of performing the check, it gets postponed...

Re: XI not performing host checks for hosts imported from Co
For reference, can you also post one of your host definitions as well for us to take a look at?

Re: XI not performing host checks for hosts imported from Co
Here is the definition of an imported host (thus that has never been checked up to now) :
linux-template is :
generic-host is :
Code: Select all
define host {
host_name SOFTMOVE
use linux-template
alias Brancardage - Softmove
address 192.168.160.37
contact_groups admins,softmove
register 1
}
Code: Select all
define host {
name linux-template
use generic-host
max_check_attempts 4
check_interval 3
retry_interval 1
contact_groups admins
register 0
}
Code: Select all
define host {
name generic-host
check_period 24x7
event_handler_enabled 1
flap_detection_enabled 1
process_perf_data 1
retain_status_information 1
retain_nonstatus_information 1
notification_interval 240
notification_period 24x7
notification_options d,u,r
notifications_enabled 1
register 0
}
Re: XI not performing host checks for hosts imported from Co
I got it!
For a strange reason the "check_command" was not in the imported templates. I added a check_command in generic-host and it now works properly!

Re: XI not performing host checks for hosts imported from Co
If the check_command directive was not imported as well with the templates that could certainly cause it, but it's hard to say what happened for sure without digging in.
At any rate, glad it's working! Are we all set to close this?
