Where to get vMA appliance

Post by dlukinski »

Hello XI Support

I am going over "Nagios Plugin to monitor VMware Virtualization" by Box293 documentation.

Can't seem to find vMA appliance download?
- is this a VMWARE or Hyper-V appliance
- is this a Linux OS + some configurations?

Thanks,
Dimitri

Thanks @BanditBBS. @dlukinski can you provide clarification of what you're looking for if either of those is not it?

To answer a few of your standing questions:
is this a VMWARE or Hyper-V appliance
This appliance is capable of being run in both VMWare and Hyper-V systems, though it will only interact with the VMWare API - therefore it can only be used to monitor VMWare.
is this a Linux OS + some configurations?
The vMA appliance is running SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 with some custom VMWare software built-in. More information can be found here: http://pubs.vmware.com/vsphere-60/topic ... _guide.pdf
