/usr/local/nagios/var/archives/* & other logs
Nagios XI 2014R2.3 has been running excellent for a couple of years and it does it's job good. I am getting ready to upgrade to a new release of Redhat and Nagios. I realized that Nagios needs more attention than I have been giving it. My /usr/local/nagios/var/archives/* has logs back to day one. My backups are huge. I have looked for a preferred Nagios method of doing log cleanup and have not really found one. I can create a script, no problem. Is there a Nagios method of setting up log cleanups? I have the https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ptions.pdf doc and I am looking for a best practice to maintain them.

Could always send those logs on over to Nagios Logserver
Realistically, you can probably take the archives older than X days and store them offline somewhere, where X is however long your policy states you need logs to go back and be readily available.
