Exclude Hosts being in Downtime from Home Dashboard

Post by mido2010 »

Hi all,

I've got a question respective the Home Dashboard in NagiosXI:

I would like to have Host that are currently in a planned downtime NOT to show up on the Home Dashboard as a Source having problems.

Is that possible and if yes: how?

Many thanks fpr your help in advance,

best regards,

Michael

Just so we're on the same page, are you referring to the Host Status Summary dashlet or something else? A screenshot would be best.

If you are talking about the Host Status Summary dashlet, what about the Service Status Summary dashlet?

I can take a look but I need to know exactly what you want, please be as specific as possible.

Thank you

Hi ssax,

many thanks for your reply. Yes, you are right, I should have inserted a screenshot initially. Well, please find it attached now.

At least I would like have machines being in downtime removed from 'Latest Alerts'. Even nicer to me
it would be to have them also removed from 'Host Status Summary' and 'Service Status Summary'.

Best regards,

Michael

I assume only one of these hosts is in downtime as "Down"=2, and "Unhandled"=1, right?
Anyway, you are welcome to post a feature request about adding this functionality but I am a bit skeptical about seeing it implemented. It is possible to put a filter in "Latest Alerts" to hide hosts in downtime but I don't expect to see any changes under the 'Host Status Summary' and 'Service Status Summary'.

FYI, under the "Operations Screen" you can hide the hosts in downtime by clicking on the "Hide Handled" link on the bottom of the page. Hope this helps.

A filter in 'Latest Alerts' would help a lot. Could you please give me a hint where to implement the filter?

According to our developers, this shouldn't be difficult to implement. I already posted an internal feature request for adding this functionality (TASK ID 7481). I would wait for their solution. Thanks!
