Monitoring ESX servers' system time

Post by Brian89IT »

Hello,

I've been looking into installing the VMWare SDKs so I can use the Nagios VMWare wizard (https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ios-XI.pdf), however I'm not sure it will solve my issue.

I need to monitor the ESX host's system time (not uptime) so I know if/when the clock goes out of sync. Do you know if this is possible using this wizard? If not, what would you recommend for monitoring system time on ESX hosts?

Thanks,
Brian

I feel like it may be a little more than necessary. You could just use check_by_ssh, for minimal overhead.
