nagiosxi snmp trap receiver alerts

Post by MathieuS »

Hi,

I've configured the snmp trap receiver and am getting the traps in nagiosxi. When it goes in critical state I get an alert, when it recovers I get an alert too. But when it sends a normal trap like UPS has passed self-check then I don't get anything.

What are you looking to do exactly - would you like to change the OK/WARNING/CRITICAL returns for certain events?

No, I would like to get a notification with every trap, regardless what state it is in.

It looks like you are looking for Volatile Services.

Here is a short description of Volatile Services but I included the link for the full description.
Volatile services are useful for monitoring...

Things that automatically reset themselves to an "OK" state each time they are checked
Events such as security alerts which require attention every time there is a problem (and not just the first time)
