Host alias syntax: multiple aliases on "alias" line?

Post by respence »

Hi,

How can I list multiple aliases for a host on its one "alias" line?

Thanks!

There should not be a need for multiple aliases and as such, I'd have too say it is not possible to have multiple aliases listed. Are you trying to group multiple hosts together?

Check out the following on the topic of host groups:

https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... #hostgroup

If questions remain, please provide a bit more context in your next post, thanks.

We have a desire, not so much a need, to be able to use two (or more) aliases for a given host. I see no provision to do this in the Host definition description for the alias line. I'm going to try comma-separated values.

Thanks,
Ray

Could you provide more information on what you're trying to accomplish? Maybe we can help achieve that?
