Acknowledgments aren't working

Post by dtlrinc »

Nagios XI 5.2.3
Centos 6.6 (VM Image)

When trying to acknowledge a host or service problem when looking at the respective detail, the acknowledgment does not stick or take at all. However, when you go to the Mass Acknowledge menu option and do for the same service or host, the system accepts it from that menu. This has become a troubling issue, is there any insight as to why. I can send the system profile if needed and any relevant logs as requested.

Also please note, we are unable to also schedule downtime for any host. Not sure if the two things are related at all.

Thanks,
Nigel

We have a fix in the works very soon for scheduled downtime. It's generally something to do with your date/time format.

Just to confirm Nigel, what is the date format you're using on your system?

Date format in Admin -> User defaults is MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS

And the fix mentioned fixes both issues, and not just the Downtime issues?

Have you tried updating to 5.2.5?

No I haven't tried updating as of yet. That release was just made available today according to the system. Do you have the change logs for it?

Thank you for posting a link to the changelogs.

After successfully upgrading to 5.2.5, I have attempted to schedule downtime for a host and am still receiving the same error as I have been pre-upgrade to 5.2.5. I have included a screenshot of the screen with the error message.

Also please note I am still unable to acknowledge hosts or services in one place but it works from another part of the system. Screenshots of both places have been included as well.

Now the Mass acknowledge is a plugin as far as I know, but curious as to why it works there and not in the native menu option. Also note, the acknowledgments stopped working prior to the addition of the mass acknowledge plugin.

Thanks,
Nigel

Can you go to Admin->Manage Users-><the "problem" user>->Edit, and show us a screenshot of the page?

The "problem user" is any user.

But as requested I have included a screenshot of my own admin user in the system.
