Host without Service - not giving more info

Dear Expert

We adding many Host (just host) without any service, because we found just pinging of the IP is very good monitoring but found in new XI 5.2.3 when we try to find more of that HOST info, not a quick and simple. For us (NMS Team) its okay but for our normal Read-Only users very difficult.

Please find attached, we search via Top Right Search button, showing the Host is UP, but we click that 1UP (no action), even we try to click "......backup-inet-cpe" (no action).

FYI, we mentioning all our detail in the Host NOTES (Object Notes) which is accessible if they able to click on the HOST and other option will view/can be open from there.....Overview....History....Notes, we told them to go to Home, Host Detail and search there, but they find its difficult (to many clicks) as they used to search from Top Right Search option.

Please fix this issue in next release.

Can you achieve your goal by clicking on the "Host Detail", then typing your keyword in the search bar above the "Host" column, and clicking on a link under the "Host Status Summary"?

As I mentioned, its okay for NMS Team, but our other Read-Only users they used to check Host & Services from Top Right Search option and finding difficulties when its not showing Host in Red/Green status when there is just Host without any services. When it will show the status they will find all other info as usual.

We hope it get fixed in next release.

It seems the search functionality could be improved. I believe that this is a bug. I am discussing the issue with out developers as we speak, and already posted an internal bug report (TASK ID 7852).

The task 7463 has been marked by our devs as "completed". The issue should be resolved in the next release of XI. Thank you!
