backup and restore of Nagiosxi

Post by tgfde »

Hi,

Can this process work if you backed up Nagios R1.2 and restoring to Nagios R1.8?

Also, I took a backup of our current instance of Nagios with backup_xi.sh and backed up the files which is attached. Is this correct? I was looking at the doc on backup and restore and it was showing 7 files but my backup shows 8 files with four of them zipped up.

Thank you.

A safer way might be to restore to 1.2, and then run the upgrade procedure.

So 1.8 is also supported on CentOS 5.6?

I thought 1.8 is only supported on CentOS 6.0.

Thanks.

Yes, Nagios XI 2011R1.8 is supported on CentOS 5.x. In fact, it's likely to run better because of various packaging issues that CentOS 6 has been having in the transition to 6.1. Glad we could help!
