Installation of Elasticsearch plugin "Shield"?

Post by batzos »

I am looking for the optimal solution for granting access to certain users to certain log data and I ran into the Elasticsearch plugin "Shield". Is it possible to install this into an NLS and use it? If not, can I install it in a separate ELK stack server and then "connect" somehow this server to the data stored in my NLS cluster?

This is untested by us. We have plans to add access control in a future release, but at this time it has not been added. You could in theory send all of your data to another ELK stack, but we would be unable to provide support for that, nor could we promise that it would work. You could look into output filters if this is something you're interested in doing.
