I fully understand that Nagios is accessed via a web browser.
We have been using it for the past three years and have no issues when accessed from computers using Firefox or Internet explorer.
However, when you try and get a Samsung TV screen browser running Chrome to access the system, the "Sorry Dave" error occurs.

Re: "Sorry Dave" error on logging in using a TV Monitor
As mentioned in the previous posts, that is because Smart TV browsers are not nearly as smart as desktop browsers. My suggestion of a $70 Intel Compute Stick plugged into the HDMI port of your Smart TV is a great solution, and is likely cheaper than spending more time trying to figure out how to get the internal Smart TV browser to be smarter.

I understand it runs Chrome, but it still runs differently based on the architecture. You might be able to use your API key with the TV to access pages. Just append to the end of the URL you'd like to access. For example, this will load the home page without logging in -I fully understand that Nagios is accessed via a web browser.

This is a great suggestion. They can be found for <$100 these days. May have to go with the Intel Stick. Thanks @eloyd!
Lets hope it works !
In an operations center environment you need the ability to have monitoring systems up on large screens...the Operations Screen in particular in Nagios is good for this type of view.

Re: "Sorry Dave" error on logging in using a TV Monitor
We saw someone post about this in general chat earlier today. A suggestion I made to them was to try to set both the Nagios server and the TV to UTC and see if that resolves anything. Understandable if you don't want to do that, but it's worth a shot.

Intel stick worked !
Re: "Sorry Dave" error on logging in using a TV Monitor
Awesome! I'm thinking of recommending that same solution in house, actually. We're toying with the idea of a monster screen on the wall, ostensibly for monitoring, but I know it will eventually be used for gaming.
