Feature Request: Data retention based on type

Post by eloyd »

We'd love to have separate data retention policies based on data type or some other field (type seems the best). So if we have a type=syslog and a type=apache_access and a type=apache_error, maybe we want to keep syslog for 90 days, apache_access for 180 days, but apache_error for only 30 days.

This would REALLY make some of our customers happy.

Don't quote me on this, but I think having multiple index types is something that is being looked at in the distant future.

I will not only quote you on that, but if anyone asks me, I will say you promised it by April 15th. :-)

What was that? You're treating the entire Nagios support team to Fogo De Chao next time you're up? That's so kind of you!

I can mention it to him, but I wouldn't get those hopes up.
