Only one active directory user?

Post by eloyd »

We do not use AD so can't test, but we have a customer that wants multiple AD users on their NLS install. Turns out that after they make the first one, it will go through the motions but not create a second user. It just doesn't show up. Can this be fixed?

Are they just not listed? I just added 5 users, and I can log in with all of them. They also all show up on my user list.

None of them show up in the list. Unfortunately, I have to screenshare with them to get past their firewall, so I can't just go check, but I created an account, I watched him create an account, and the second account did not show up. Switch to "local" and it worked fine.

Made some new users in AD, used both the AD Users button and the Create User(with setting auth type to AD) button to make new users. They both worked fine. What version of NLS is he on? It's got to be something fishy on his system, we have a lot of people that use AD, and surely we would be getting more reports of this happening if it was a widespread issue.

They downloaded the OVA from Nagios last week. I'll have him poke around some more.

I'll also spin up an ova installation to see if it happens on that for me. My main NLS installation I do my testing versus is Cent 7.

We can't test locally because we have no AD servers to authenticate against. Maybe I'll go build one just for that....

Couldn't replicate on the OVA either. If it helps, I'm using Server 2012 for my AD.

Okay, thanks. I'll see what we can come up with.
