I've installed XI 1.8 from scratch and cannot add any switches or server hosts from the monitoring wizard. When applying configuration, I get an error (attached graphic).
I'm running it on the same server I've run1.6 & 1.7..... 1.6 was great but it just keeps getting progressively worse and worse for me with this program!

This is the result from an error your monitoring configuration. Take a look at the first wiki item on the page below. Let us know if you're still stuck and we can help you debug your config.

Thanks for the response. I was able to look at the txt file and determine I was using an invalid character when naming a port on my switch. It also seems that until I correct that first issue, any other object I add will cause a failure when applying until I resolve the first issue. I'm learning, thanks.

Good deal. Yeah, a common thing that isn't always intuitive is that is Nagios XI detects a configuration error, it will roll back the configs to the last known good configuration. This is done to keep the monitoring engine running, but it can create some challenges ; )
