Nagios XI Apply Configuration

I am having a problem, everything seems to be working fine, however when I go to apply a configuration either when adding a device, or when just going through admin I get:

Command submitted for processing... Works
Waiting for configuration verification.... Fails.
Backend login to the Core Config Manager failed.

I have checked everything I know (newby) and can't figure it out,

I am using the Nagios XI VM v 2011R1.8

I need some help on this please as we're about to push this into production.

Is your system using a proxy? Is there any reason that a wget call to localhost would fail on your system?
