storage requirement for [additional] cluster nodes

Post by bchau123 »

Hi,

I'm trying to confirm whether each node in a cluster would need to have the same storage requirements. i.e. if your single node currently uses a total of 500GB of storage, each node that you add would need to have the same amount of storage? In a cluster configuration, it there an option for a shared storage across all the cluster nodes?

Thanks,

All of your nodes should have similar storage capabilities. When your cluster NLS, it is redundant, in case one node goes offline, another will have its data to pick up. I would not advise that you share storage between these instances, as the reason for clustering is for redundancy. If you have them all on a single point of failure, the redundancy is pointless.
