Host Is showing down in nagios xi

Post by vaibhav beohar »

Hi,

My all host is showing down in my nagios xi...but status says ok.
I checked my all the host and they were fine..but nagios xi is showing down..

One thing what i found is i am not able to ping my host from nagios server
hosts are web urls...

So is there any way to make it green (Up) without pinging.

I have already disable ping option ..

Thanks.

Go to: Core Config Manager->Monitoring->Hosts, click on the "Modify" Action button next to the "EAS-Production" host and check what is the template in use. Then in Core Config Manager, go to Templates->Host Templates, find your template, click on the "Modify" Action button and see what is the check command that is in use. Try using "check_xi_host_http" and see if this is going to fix your problem.

Go to: Core Config Manager->Monitoring->Hosts and click on the "Modify" Action button next to the host, showing down and post a screenshot of this page ("Common Settings" tab).

So your host check is doing a check against the http service, probably on port 80. Is this host using strict https (port 443), or could requests on port 80 be blocked for these hosts? Does this host actually have a public web server running?
