I'm now trying to test the beats plugin. Logstash is listening on the new beats port 5545 I defined, Nagios log server host firewall is open on that port but nothing but syslogs are showing up from my filebeats log stasher host. I will do some tcpdumps to try see where the breakdown is and let you know
installing beats plugin
Re: installing beats plugin
My apologies, I've found the fault, I had a file 999-outputs.con.old as backup in the same conf.d directory which contained the original config i.e. 'host' param. Once deleted logstash service runs.

Re: installing beats plugin
Were you able to make it work? Logstash has been deprecated and Beats sounds like the best way to go.
Re: installing beats plugin
For clarification - Lumberjack was deprecated, was that what you meant?

Re: installing beats plugin
Been looking into beats a bit and it does seem like a nice thing to work in Nagios Log Server.

I will discuss it with the developers to see what they have to say.
