How would you do this(if you can)....

Post by BanditBBS »

We have over 1200 hosts. They all have many services, but for this use case, I am concerned with only CPU and Memory.

The performance data is of course there for as far back as we've been monitoring. What we would like to do is create some sort of reports/something that shows in list of average memory usage of X days and average CPU usage or even Load over X days. We'd then use these reports to investigate the heavy hitters. Even though they may be running under the thresholds, we could still potentially lower Load/CPU/Memory usage and in turn lower power usage and other factors that drive cost by being proactive and tuning the servers.

So you basically want averages calculated over a specific date range? I don't think we have this, but it shouldn't be terribly hard to implement. Lemme know if this is in fact what you want and I'll have a FR made up.

Yeah, for a specific data point for a specific service for a specific hostgroup. So we can then sort by average and then investigate the biggest hitters.

Wow, awesome Willem....I knew someone had to have done it before. That will work for me until they build a report that can do it! :)

I have submit a request for this feature with a reference to this thread. Is it all right if we lock this topic and mark it as resolved?
