apache2 not being monitored

Post by jcastillo »

Hi I seem to be stuck not sure how to properly proceed. The issue that im having is apache2 service is not responding back to nagios xi server.

the remote server is
ubuntu 16.04 x64 bit

I have nagios XI setup and used the configuration wizard to setup monitoring of the linux server. Once of the services i wanted to monitor was apache2.
I installed nrpe on the remote server and was able to have the communication work. I can use remote commands from the ccm and still get a postive results after i stop the service apache2.

How do i get this resolved as im not sure whats happening and why its not showing as a stopped service

What im looking to do is monitor to make sure apache2 service is running and if it stops at any time send an immediate alert stating that apache is down.

Thanks,
Julio

Testing over the web interface isn't always the best way to test a command. Can you try it over the CLI?

Also, can you please post your complete service definition for us to look at?
