nagios monitoring engine won't start

Post by vmwareguy »

Fresh install of Nagios XI on a base centos 6.7 install and the nagios monitoring engine won't start.

I did a write config and verify config - this is what it reports.

Any help would be great - thanks.

Check your configuration file(s) to ensure that they contain valid
directives and data defintions. If you are upgrading from a previous
version of Nagios, you should be aware that some variables/definitions
may have been removed or modified in this version. Make sure to read
the HTML documentation regarding the config files, as well as the
'Whats New' section to find out what has changed.

What steps did you go through for the installation?

What's the output of this command? ( In code brackets, please )

Code: Select all

ls -lR /usr/local/nagi*

there's 416526 characters when I run that command - to much to post.

Do you want me to break it out in a bunch of separate post?

How about just the output of ls -lR /usr/local/nagios

All good - I found the Problems_Using_Nagios_XI_With_Proxies write up. After adding the wgetrc exceptions I got a clean install. Thanks for the help
