Improper alerts/notifications

Post by CarlWedu »

Having issues where hosts and/or services deleted or modified via CCM do not perform correctly within the monitoring. So, for example, changed the ip address on a server this morning via CCM, but still receiving alerts due to ping failures to an address that is not configured for that host any longer. Similarly, have deleted a host and all associated services, but still showing alerts for it being down.

Have also had issues with notifications not stopping after acknowledgments, disabling notifications, removing contacts from the host/service, etc.

Any ideas? Please let me know if there is any further detail or screen captures that would be useful in troubleshooting.

Thanks!!

After making changes in the CCM, are you clicking 'Apply Configuration'? You will need to do this, to reload any changes into the Nagios service.

Thanks, but those screenshots aren't directly related to the previous question - are you, or have you clicked "Apply Config" after making changes to the IP address or anything else?
We just need to verify some of the basics first.....

Can you PM over a profile for us to look at? Along with that, what is an example of a host / service and contact that shouldn't receive notifications, but still is?

It looks like one file was missing out of your profile, can you also PM over /usr/local/nagios/var/objects.cache?
