Notifications stopped working

Post by sgiworks »

This is the second time, that notification stopped suddenly. What could be the problem? and how can we avoid it.
We have another Nagios XI server at different location, is there is notification service that can be monitored from difference Nagios XI server?

Thanks in advance.

I just looked back at what had happened the first time, and it looks like it was related to templates. I'm guessing this is going to be a different issue -- and notifications are tricky, most of the time a different problem each time. With that said, as far as monitoring for why it's not working, it's a bit difficult.

Can you PM over a profile for us to look at? (Admin -> System Profile -> Download Profile)

Are the notifications rendering under the Home -> Notifications page? Were any changes recently made?

Looking at your table it looks like SQL is crashed, run this -

Code: Select all

/usr/local/nagiosxi/scripts/repair_databases.sh
It should fix it, if not, take a look at this document which will help to get SQL repaired.

/usr/local/nagiosxi/scripts/repair_databases.sh fixed the problem, but can we know what is the root cause for such problem? how can we avoid it from re-occurrence.

Is there is troubleshooting guide to identify the problems, known problems.

All ok with our Nagios XI Server? We haven't seen alerts.
Not that I would like to see, just want to ensure all is good.

I think we should take this into a support ticket so we can get your configs and look into the problem.

Please send an email to [email protected] referencing this forum thread and we'll take it from there. Reply to this thread when you have done this so we can confirm we received the email.

Please send us your system profile in the email you send:

Click the Admin menu
System Config > System Profile
Click the Download Profile button and send us that file

Let us know the name of the host and service that did not notify that should have.

Going to close this one out as I see a ticket has arrived. We will continue the discussion there.
