Changing ARGS in bulk modifications clears all ARGS

Post by snapon_admin »

I just tried using the Bulk modifications > Change command and arguments feature to modify $ARG1$ on about 30 services and doing this also cleared the $ARG2$ field since I didn't add anything to it. I feel like leaving the field blank should indicate that I don't want that field changed, not that I want that field to be cleared. Is this a bug or intended behavior?

I believe this is intended since the rest of the variables are submitted with a null value. In light of improving things though, I can definitely understand where you're coming from. I've filed a feature request to allow preservation of other $ARG$ values should you only need to change one, rather then submitting a null value. The ID for it is #8854.

I think a checkbox option for this, on the bulk mod page, would be really beneficial.
