Mind if we close this one up then? Looks like things are running a lot better now.

The upgrade to 5.2.9 went smoothly and the performance for the dashboards are about the same (improved after the hosts file update). However, I'm still not seeing the option to delete the "[ screen ]" dashboard. Does that require accessing the database?

What I'm seeing is on the "Manage My Dashboards" page, I see all the shared dashboards and personal dashboards but no "[ SCREEN ]" dashboard. There are icons next to each dashboard but no bulk actions like checkboxes to mass delete.

On the "Deploy Dashboards" page, I see the shared & personal dashboards plus 2 "[ SCREEN ]" dashboards (someone deployed it to me, but I can't remove it). There are checkboxes for each dashboard for "deploy" and "keep synced", but I do not see any un-deploy or delete options.

Neither one of those pages let me make changes to other users' dashboards (except deploy to them new dashboards). I can successfully masquerade as another user to make changes, which is a tedious process so we'll have to walk the users through how to delete their own dashboards in the meantime until there's an update with the feature request included.

The features were filed so close to the release of 5.2.9 that they did not make it in, but undeploy has definitely been filed. I am thinking it will need a database command to clear them out, but I'll need to have a dev whip up the correct command to use. Might need to wait til tomorrow for that since it is almost the end of our day. If you do not hear back from me tomorrow feel free to bump this back up.

The commands might differ a bit depending on the upgrade path your server has followed - did you upgrade the system from a 2014 or earlier version? Or has it always been on some version of XI 5? There are two different databases that will be in play, depending.

Spoke to our dev team, and after discussion it looks like this is going to need to be filed as a bug report and treated as such. There are a couple issues with the SQL command approach that would require some more finesse in order to properly resolve. Unfortunately this means that for the time-being the SCREEN dashboard issue is going to need to wait for a proper fix, and indeed the whole deployment functionality is going to be re-evaluated since there are a lot of issues with it currently.

Internal bug report ID 8862 - "Unable to delete deployed SCREEN dashboard"

That sounds good. Thanks for checking in. I'm usually a bit weary about making DB changes directly anyway.
