NRPE for Mac?

Post by jnojr »

Been Googling, and all I find are old posts about it and people posting their own home-rolled ones.

Is there a "real" NRPE for Mac? I'd really like to install a supported .pkg rather than rely on something someone banged up for their Leopard Mac years ago right before disappearing from the Internet...

I am currently working with our C developer for the upcoming release of NRPE v3. I have prepared documentation on installing this on Apple OS X and will be fully supported when released (very soon).

If you would like to try the Beta version PM me and I'll send you the instructions.

Shipped as a .pkg?

Thanks for the offer. What I use it for, at least right now, is pretty basic, so 2.x is probably more than sufficient :-)

Have you followed our documentation?
https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... _Agent.pdf

Can you show us the errors that you are getting? Please show logs, screenshots, etc.

What is the version of the OSX that you are trying to install NRPE on? Run the following command and show the output:

Code: Select all

To add to what @lmiltchev posted - I sent over a message to Troy (@Box293) asking about the documentation. He's currently sleeping, but I suspect we'll have the document published soon for NRPEv3 on OSX.

@Box293 I would be interested in the beta because following the documentation hasn't been working for El Capitan but it's not letting me PM you. Is it ok to email your personal website email?
Thanks!

Your first two posts need to be moderated as an anti-spam measure before you can PM. Post once more, I'll approve it and you should be good to go.
