Nagios Scheduled Reporting on critical issues only

Post by benhank »

Hello all!
My windows guys have a problem:

"We have a script that uses PowerShell to generate a daily report that only shows disks that have exceeded thier thresholds but due to older server versions and wmi issues the report is not always hitting every server.
The request is “Can Nagios generate a daily scheduled report that will only show disk drives that have exceeded their respective thresholds and are in a critical state. Disks that are ok should not show up in the report.”
I have Nagios successfully monitoring the Disks via NRPE. I don't know how to create a report that only shows the drives that have exceeded thier respective thresholds.

Nagiosxi 5.5.7(test env) 2500 hosts, 13,000 services

Here is the best I can get you:

1. Go to Configure > Core Config Manager > Servicegroups
- Click the Add New button and add a new servicegroup for your disks
- Add all the disks to this servicegroup.
- Apply Config

2. Go to Home > Servicegroup Summary
- Next to the servicegroup you just created, under the services column, click the red one that shows criticals (if you don't have it you can submit a passive result of critical for one)
- This will bring you to a page that will only show that servicegroup (all disk services) in the critical state
- Up at the very top right hand corner, click the drop down menu, and choose Schedule Page.

This will show you want you want but you will need to manage the services in the servicegroup (adding as necessary), if your disk services are generic and applied to hostgroups it will automatically manage itself.

Let me know if that works for you.

That produed the desired report. The only problem is I need the report to only show services that are in a critical state. The report should not show anything that is green.

If you followed the steps exactly it should only show the criticals for you and you will see "Filters: Service=Critical" at the top left, please try it again and let me know if you're still seeing anything other than criticals.

I tried it but it didnt work:

If you notice even tho I selected hide unknown and hide unreachable, they still are in the report. In this case I am using the availability report but the others produse the same result.

You're in reports, not sure how you ended up there, do this:
