We don't have any Websphere (WAS) monitoring and I'm trying to setup Nagios core with a WAS plugin for this. I got as far as getting Nagios and my test server showing as a "host" in the web console (running RHEL). I have my PMI statistics enabled in my Websphere Admin console. I want Nagios for the benefit of threshold alerts via email.
Anyone have any hands on guidance they can give me for getting this setup? Huge thanks if you can, would really benefit my company.
Need Websphere Application Server monitor plugin suggestion
Re: Need Websphere Application Server monitor plugin suggest
Have you looked on the Nagios Exchange for a plugin that fits your use case?
https://exchange.nagios.org
Here's an agent that looks pretty comprehensive:

Here's some documentation on defining objects in Nagios Core:
https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... tions.html
In a nutshell, you would define your Websphere server as a "host" then add individual "services" under the host object for your WAS metrics. There's other options as well depending on what sort of data about the WAS environment you're looking to retrieve. Definitely let us know if you're looking for some more in-depth advice!
