I am using a free SNMP software and experiencing SET issues. the free program is based on standard RFCs and is a webserver version. I also have Nagios core installed. if i use the SNMP software to enter a MIB II Sysname, it will not maintain that description anymore, but it used to. In looking at the pre-requisites for Nagios, is this impacting my software?
thanks
SNMP SET issues
Re: SNMP SET issues
By default, Nagios Core checks poll devices using SNMP and doesn't set values on the remote device using SNMP.
Now there could be a 3rd party plugin that was installed and configured on you system that is setting that value. You would have to look at the configurations and see if that is true.
