open-vm-tools not avaiable in LOG repository

Hello LOG server support

open-vm-tools we are not available for install in LOG server repository (CentOS 6.7 / 1.4.1 VM by NAGIOS template)

- is this something done on purpose because of compatibility reasons?

We don't guarantee compatibility, but it was not removed by us. We ship with the default repositories, and I do not believe open-vm-tools is part of that repository.

Well, XI seems to work with open-vm-tools and have one in its repository (same NAGIOS-supplied VM)
Would it be OK to install one for LOG ?

I cannot guarantee compatibility, but I've not seen it cause issues personally.
