Re: WAN IP Reach ability check in Router
Hi Troy / Team,
Thanks for getting back to me. Sorry for the delay and in sufficient information.
Here is the info you needed.
We have an ERX Router (Juniper ERX 310) . One of the sub interface in the router assigned with public ip from ISP to each the internet.(WAN IP).
My network team would like to check the reach ability of the WAN IP from ERX Router.
Would like to trigger alert whenever reach ability issues arises.
Please let me know is there any possibility for the same.
Thanks and regards
Srini

Re: WAN IP Reach ability check in Router
Our usual agents like NRPE and NSClient will not really work on a router, so unless there is some functionality in the router itself or this information is available via SNMP, this won't be straight-forward to check. You could have a host on each router's network do the ping out and report passively back to Nagios, but this would require a bit of setup.

We don't have that exact device to test against, and I was not able to find anything obvious on Google. Your best bet will be to reach out to the manufacturer.
