Re: Unable to Restart nna service

Post by tmcdonald »

Let's get some more information:
  • What NNA version is this?
  • Are you running this as root or another user?
  • Has any other software been installed that might be conflicting with the Python environment?
On more of a curious note, is there a specific reason you are manually restarting the NNA stack? If something is malfunctioning there might be better ways to troubleshoot it.

Hi tmcdonald,

Code: Select all

[list]
[*]What NNA version is this?
Nagios NA 2.2.3

[*]Are you running this as root or another user?
Yes we are running this as root user.

[*]Has any other software been installed that might be conflicting with the Python environment?
None of the other softwares are installed.

On more of a curious note, is there a specific reason you are manually restarting the NNA stack?
I added a source and it is not getting started from web gui, so i manually restarted the service.

Can you login to the NNA server as root, run the following and post the output?

Code: Select all

chage -l nna
chage -l apache
grep nna /etc/group
df -h
df -i
Then run the following and post the /tmp/output.txt file.

Code: Select all

yum list installed >/tmp/output.txt
ls -lR /usr/local/nagiosna >>/tmp/output.txt
Also, post the following files

Code: Select all

/etc/sudoers

Re: Unable to Restart nna service

Post by tgriep »

You missed this part from my previous post.

Run the following as root and post the /tmp/output.txt file.

Code: Select all

yum list installed >/tmp/output.txt
ls -lR /usr/local/nagiosna >>/tmp/output.txt
What is the /usr/local/nagios partition for on that server?

Hi Tom,

My apologies, i forgot to update that. Attached it now.

In case if we raise a request for CPU core or Memory or Disk Size extension. we doesnt want to bring down the OS part. As per our Admin team. we have gone with that option.

Re: Unable to Restart nna service

The permissions on the /usr/local/nagiosna/var folder needs to be adjusted for the nagiosna process.
To do that, login as root to the server, run the following and that should fix it.

Code: Select all

chown nna.nnacmd /usr/local/nagiosna/var
chmod 775 /usr/local/nagiosna/var
chmod ug+s /usr/local/nagiosna/var
You may have to recreate this source in the NNA GUI as the folder didn't created on the system for storing the flow data.

Code: Select all

CSInternetFirewall10.10.130.10
