There is a hostgroup.cfg file in the directory you specified already.
Code: Select all
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 44782 Sep 20 11:14 hostgroup.cfg
https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... #hostgroup
It may be in your /usr/local/nagios/etc/objects/ folder as well which I see you have.

Re: hostgroup.cfg at nagios-core 4.0.4
You can create hostgroup.cfg your own by using vi, vim, or nano. Then just enter the definition you want to apply as stated in the documentation page I linked you -
Code: Select all
define hostgroup{
hostgroup_name novell-servers
alias Novell Servers
members netware1,netware2,netware3,netware4
}

Re: hostgroup.cfg at nagios-core 4.0.4
Hi,
Basically what I want to add is that on dashboard under current status Host groups I will be able to see all my servers grouped the same as I see localhost (please see the attached screenshot )
So I have few quires about this:
1) Why I see only local host?
2) On which file I need to configure to see it in dashboard current status Host groups ?

Re: hostgroup.cfg at nagios-core 4.0.4
You need to modify the file that contains the hostgroup to add other members. This depends how you setup your directory structure. Assuming it's standard, what is the output of the following?
Code: Select all
grep -R 'define hostgroup' /usr/local/nagios/etc/ -A 10
