Default Settings for Passive Objects (NRDS)

Post by derekb »

HI there,
I'm trying to figure out how to set some default options when I'm adding new hosts/services via NRDS. I want to set the "Freshness Threshold" and "Check Freshness" options so I don't have to manually change it for every time I add a host and service via NRDS.

I found the Service Template for "xiwizard_passive_service", but I don't think that did the trick -- I added new services via NRDS and it did NOT set the freshness interval like I had set in the service template.

Any ideas where to look?

Changing the template should work, unless the parameters are set locally on the service. Could you post a segment of your /usr/local/nagios/var/objects.cache file, specifically one of the define service { sections for a host setup using NRDS.

Then, post actual service definition for us to look at. The objects.cache will show us how it's compiled, and the service definition will show us the settings pre-template.
