Nagios Splunk and NDoUtils Integration

Post by Avinash91 »

Looking to integrate Splunk with Nagios server(Linux server) for networking and server monitoring. I would like to integrate Splunk with NDoUtils to log these alerts into the database.
I have installed NDoUtils on my Nagios instance and created a database and a user for this purpose.
Would really appreciate if you guys could guide me or help with the documentation for :
1. Installing Splunk and integrating with Nagios
2. Integrating Splunk and NDoUtils

Thanks

Splunk is not our product, and we do not use it internally, so we do not really have experience with it or documentation for it. A quick Google search found some documentation from their end:

https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/2703/
http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Ad ... Core/About

but without knowing the requirements for your environment it's hard to say whether these will be relevant.

Thanks for your reply @tmcdonald.
I do find the Splunk Add-on for Nagios Core suitable for our requirement. I was able to successfully install Splunk . Initially i was able to login to the Splunk web interface and change my password.
However, now all of a sudden I am unable to access the Splunk web portal. I have tried disabling to the firewall to make sure it isn't blocking the interface.
In order to install the Splunk Add-on for Nagios Core I will first have to login to the wen portal.

Can you please suggest on this.

Splunk is not our product so it's hard to say why you are unable to login to the Splunk web portal. I would contact them for support.

@rkennedy is correct - as Splunk is not our product we are not able to provide support for it.
