XI offline upgrade from source install from offline upgrade

Post by masterson »

Hi,

I am trying to upgrade from xi 2014r1.3. It was installed by source install script. The server don't have internet access. We have failed the upgrade from the latest source install upgrade script. Can we use the offline rpm package tarball to upgrade it?

Regards,

Ricky

You can find the offline installation/upgrade instructions here. Offline installs for 5.3.0 should available in the near term future, as of now 5.2.9 is the latest for offline use.

Yes I had downloaded it before. When I look into the upgrade script, it's just run the 'yum localinstall' to install those RPMs. Our xi was installed by source build. I am not sure can we upgrade it with rpm directly.

We have a feature request in currently, that is for just this. Going from a source install -> Offline RPM install and visa versa. The ID on it is #7812.
