Hi Team,
There were few devices which were down due to some issue and it is still down till today .So we added few devices in maintenance mode from 23-Sep to 23 DEC.We have to submit availability report to the client every week .We pulled availability for 1-Oct to 15-Oct report but still uptime shows less than 100% .Could please let us know why this is happening.
Scheduled downtime
Re: Scheduled downtime
The report cannot go back in time, and make changes to days that have already occurred. As we're half way through October, I believe this is why your report is showing less than 100% for the 1st to the 15th.

I wanted to understand few things.
1. If a server is put in maintenance mode in Nagios, will there downtime be effected?
2. If No, we are facing this issue. Please advise.
3. If yes, then how can we overcome this issue. As this is impacting our availability report. we need your guidance to overcome this issue.
Thanks.
Re: Scheduled downtime
1. If you schedule downtime, I don't believe it will affect reporting. The thing that will not work though, is going back in time. In your original post, you mentioned 'So we added few devices in maintenance mode from 23-Sep to 23 DEC' when the post was made on Oct 24.raamardhani7 wrote:Hi Kennedy, rkennedy wrote:The report cannot go back in time, and make changes to days that have already occurred. 2. Did you schedule downtime in the future, or what for exactly? Can you show us a screenshot? This should help see what is going on exactly, and will show us the relevant time.
3. See above.

thanks for the clarification on the details "going back to change the details for the already scheduled downtime".
The point here is for few devices, we have placed them in maintenance mode and they are reported to be down during that time. attaching the reports for the same.
Please check only ping availability alone. this is very important for us with availability reports.

Re: Scheduled downtime
I do not see any downtime scheduled for the host 10.136.8.15, when did it start and end?

I discussed this with Tom Griep over a call and we closed the issue. we can now close this thread. thanks a lot Tom and Kennedy for your help throughout.
