I can use CentOS if that OS is better supported. We have lots of RHEL Entitlements, so it does not matter to me. Let me know what distro and version is best.

same for me, i have lot of RHEL but clearly for Nagios services i use Centos > free of fees and services that yum updates are very useful and without register (like RH)

Just an FYI, that proxy patch.sh was specific to 1.8 and should NOT be run on 1.9, since it may revert other changes. The proxy component is intended for update checks behind a proxy that requires authentication. It has not been test on a proxy with no auth. Also, that proxy component ONLY affects the update check. I suggest opening a new thread from here to keep this issue easier to follow, and we can address any issues specific to 1.9.
