Hi,
I'm monitoring some servers e.g. server1, server2 and server3 which are in hostgroup. As admin I can see all of them but for user user1 I created contact and contactgroup and assigned him only to the server2 (for example...).
But when user1 click on the "Host Groups" view - he can see all the servers and information that servers are up and (services only for server2), but why he can see all hosts and their state - he is not defined anywhere for this hosts or services for server1 or server3.
Am I missing something?
What is best practice for this situation?
Thanks

What version of Core are you using? There's a permissions fix for Host Groups in 4.2.2: https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ading.html
Note that sourceforge has changed their download URLs. You should use https://downloads.sourceforge.net/proje ... 2.2.tar.gz when you get to that portion of the instructions.

Hi,
thanks for your reply. We are using 4.1.1 version of Nagios core - I will try 4.2.2 and give you know.

BTW, depending on your OS, you might find better instructions at https://support.nagios.com/kb/article.php?id=96
Re: Host Groups view showing hosts which not member
I couldn't update our primary nagios server so I installed another one and copy most configuration. The only difference is that this nagios hasn't users authenticated via AD but localy.
And it works as I wanted - I don't see hosts which I'm not assigned in the same group.
Thanks a lot for your help.
