Server Setup Information

Post by njain213 »

Hi Team,

We are planning to setup NAGIOS XI in our company so we require few information from your side.

* Having 1000 nodes, separate database server is required or nagios installation on linux server having huge capacity is sufficient?
* Is it necessary to have selenium setup in Windows machine only or can be done in linux server?

Thanks

We have documents outlining how to do both objectives.

1. Yes, you'll just want to offload the database by following this document - https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... Server.pdf
The amount of checks you run is really based on your license / hardware.

2. Our document for Selenium was written against a CentOS machine, so no, I don't think you'll need Windows. See this document - https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ios-XI.pdf

Hi Team,

If I am buying enterprise edition then could you please provide answer of below queries?

1. I have setup application in my local network which is accessible from internet and I want to hit the URL for that application from different locations(Paris,Australia,USA,UK etc), so is it possible to hit it from different locations?

2. if it's possible to hit it from different locations,I hope this is possible through Enterprise edition?

1. You would need to have a server in any of the countries you wish to achieve results from. Use something like check_by_ssh or check_nrpe to proxy through that server / country, and achieve your result.

2. This isn't an enterprise feature.

Yes, but my question is if suppose I have setup server in UK and setup application in local network which is accessible from internet then is it possible to hit application from other countries outside my local network?
