Monitring APPs

Post by Cristhian_Plaza »

Hi again, I have a question, I've read about Nagios can monitor applications but when I try to look for something about it, I haven't find anything. I read about Nagios can do this work supported on SNMP. When I'm talking about applications, I'm talking about layer 7. Not only protocols, I mean i.e. Apache, MySql, FileZilla. Thank you.

Generally for this we reccomend WMI or NSClient++. You might be able to use net-snmp to accomplish this, but we do not have any documentation available for it.

The link for it is here - http://www.net-snmp.org/download.html

If you're able to get the applicable OID's for the processes then it shouldn't be too difficult after that point. and we can help you to configure the Nagios portion.
