Password rejected by Nagios

Post by whjsmith »

Greetings,

We were trying to setup NagiosXI under a service account we have setup and noticed the message stating that our password had to be less than 8 characters and contain no special characters such as $ or #. I find this very odd as most of the time you are getting notified by applications that your password must be greater than 8 characters and contain special characters. I am guessing there is a good reason for this. Could someone please let me know why in case my boss asks me the same question.

Thanks!

What version of Nagios XI are you using? Where exactly do you see this message?
Please, describe the steps you took to change the password and post a screenshot of the message, stating that the "password had to be less than 8 characters and contain no special characters such as $ or #"?

This must me an old version of the wizard.

Please download http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... owswmi.zip
Go to Admin -> Manage Config Wizards -> click the X next to the old Windows WMI Wizard
Upload the new Wizard
Should be resolved
