Two active Nagios servers at the same time

Hello,

We've installed an additional NagiosXI server which acts as a fail back server (In case the main server will fail),
We covered all the necessary logic to enable automatic back up and restore of the configuration so the fail back server is identical to the main one.

The question is whether we can keep both server active at the same time or should we stop Nagios services on the fail back server while its not active?
