Backuped configuration file on different NagiosXI versions .

Post by xpertech »

Some questions ...

1. Can I upgrade from 2012 to v.5 ? or have to upgrate to 2014 then v.5 ? or have to new install v.5 ?
2. When upgrade or new install to new XI version, can the old backuped configuration file restore to new XI version?
3. Is there a document about above question?

1. I would upgrade to 2014, and then to XI 5.
2. Yes and no, the issue is that pre XI 5 used postgres for one of the databases, and XI 5 uses strictly mysql. If you were to install a brand new XI 5 system, and try to import your old data - it would fail due to the postgres. You could spin up a clean 2014 machine though, then upgrade to XI 5, and finally do a backup and restore.
