Only one notification after critical state

Post by nagios_aws »

Hello everyone,

Is it possible to have only one mail sent after getting a HARD CRITICAL State ?

Attached my current configuration for a service.

Notifications works as I want, except I get multiple notifications, as long as the service is down.

If informations are missing, please ask.

thank you

The notification interval is 1 minute so its probably annoying. Try 0 for one notification and no more after that.
Setting the delay to 10-15 minutes will help for things that alert and clear in a short time...

Thanks @gormank for the post! He is right about just getting one notification.

That said, this may not be what you really want. The problem with what you are asking is that it means people could forget about the issue. Of course, if that's what you really want, you have the solution.

There's an acknowledge option over on the right of the screenshot I have uploaded (under "Quick Actions"). That will stop notifications once someone clicks the acknowledgement. There's also a Mass Acknowledgement option: https://exchange.nagios.com/directory/A ... nt/details

Hello

thank you, both of you for your answers.

@dwhitfield, I'm aware that people can forget about the problem, but it's not my concern, this is what users want, despite my recommandations ...

So, if I set an interval of 0 minutes, I'll get only one notifications ?

I want only one notification, even if nobody has acknowledged the problem

Yes, as long as there is nothing over-ridding it elsewhere in the config. The quickest thing for you is going to be to just test it, but if you want to PM me your profile so I can take a look, I am happy to do that.

You can download the profile by going to Admin > System Config > System Profile and click the Download Profile (not Show Profile) button in the top right corner.

After you PM the profile, please update this thread. Updating this thread is the only way for it to show back up on our dashboard.
