Would be great if there was a way to disable or acknowledge the obtrusive Renewal Reminder. The entire organization doesn't need to see this, especially at the current frequency.
Need suggestions to disable it, please?

Re: Less obtrusive Renewal Reminder?
I have submitted feature request 10315 on your behalf. I can't say if anything will come of it, but there has been discussion in the past about changing things for users (rather than admins), and that discussion was renewed this morning.
Right now, it looks like you are getting the 45 day notice. Notices should come at 45, 30, 15, 5, 1 and then -10, -30, -45, -60 ... the negative ones can be disabled after the first one.
Is there anything we can do to speed up the renewal process for you?

Thanks, we are aware of the pending renewal in January and our finance department will release the transaction closer to the date. Just trying to minimize the notification.

Re: Less obtrusive Renewal Reminder?
This first fix suggestion is out of the scope of support, but if you had a standard browser and an easy way to deploy, I don't think a Greasemonkey script would be hard.
The support team can generally modify the PHP and send little one-off server-side fixes, but in this case the PHP file in question is a Source Guardian file, so it will require someone higher up the chain. Both the support and dev managers are aware of your request. I presented to them my personal opinion that 45 days seems like a long time to deal with these notices. Realistically, the renewal notice reminder decision is going to have to come from higher up than them, and that will take time.
That said, at this point, we're probably left with one "option". That option is to leave this thread open for other customers to respond. If there is a groundswell that these notices are cumbersome, the technical solution is not going to be hard.

Re: Less obtrusive Renewal Reminder?
I think it is to intrusive as well. Our operation team and support teams are prompted with this and I've been getting slammed with emails on this pop up. Not exactly what I was looking forward to getting back from Christmas break. Also we were waiting for the new year to renew for budget reasons and we are well within our time limit to renew.
Also from the sales side, the sales team has reached out to us so not sure why the interface would be this intrusive when the sales teams are doing there job too.
I've been using nagios and nagiosxi for years and this is by far my biggest negative to the product. Days need to be lowered (10/5), certain users should be excluded from the pop up and your sales team should be doing the renewals without impacting the license we have already paid for. Especially for a mission critical operational service that is viewed and used 24/7, 365 by many users in our organization.
This needs to be fixed, cause I'm sure next years renewal will be post the new year again, and if its within this 45 days and prompts me, I won't be a happy nagiosXI customer.
FYI.. this is not a trial... where you would normally see this type of intrusive dialog.

Thanks for the input tylerhoadley! Any one else? Thread is still open and we would like to hear from as many as possible regarding this topic...

Re: Less obtrusive Renewal Reminder?
I did bring this exact thread up in a meeting today, FYI. Not just mentioned it, actually put it on a screen and highlighted "I won't be a happy nagiosXI customer". I'll see about getting task #10315 bumped up in priority.

Re: Less obtrusive Renewal Reminder?
Seconding the ability to disable renewal reminders... we have 40-50 active users, and at least half of them have emailed me thinking they've stumbled onto something I'm not aware of....
There should be a option to not have the reminder, and I would think it would make more sense for the reminder (if enabled) to only go to admins rather than each distinct user.

Re: Less obtrusive Renewal Reminder?
I've brought this up again, and we'll be doing a run-through of our pending feature requests on Friday but this has been confirmed as something we plan to do. I still do not have an ETA unfortunately, but if I get a solid answer I will post back.

Re: Less obtrusive Renewal Reminder?
+1 from me as well. I'm running 14 instances of Nagios across multiple clients and I got a lot of well meaning people letting me know about the expiry. (They all expire on the same date)
It also gives the bad impression that the Monitoring Team isn't keeping up with License renewals. That makes me very unhappy !
My 5c worth.....(smallest coinage in Australia )..... Provide the facility for perhaps nagiosadmin user to Acknowledge the message or restrict the message to Admin users.
