Do you have any datastores that are disconnected? This is what would leave me to think that the result is 0.

Hi,

No, we don't have any datastores that are disconnected.

I am able get the status information if apply check_esx3.0.5 plugin. But getting status as critical, I just want make it Ok as status.

Is there any way to change the threshold settings.

Please find the screen shots for reference.

Hi,

Following previous post I found why we are getting Critical alerts for fab-svvh02 and csd-svvh10 machines.

1. csd-svvh10

We have total 13 datastores in csd-svvh10 as follows below

CS1-Datastore00-VM
CS1-Datastore01-VM
CS1-Datastore02-VM
CS1-Datastore03-VM
CS1-Datastore04-VM
CS1-Datastore05-VM
CS1-Datastore06-VM
CS1-Datastore07-VM (DB)
CS1-Datastore08-VM (Logs)
CS1-Datastore09-VM (DB)
CS1-Datastore10-VM (DB)
CSD-SVVH10 - OS Disk
Software

Output of each datastore:

2. fab-svvh02

output:

CHECK_ESX3-0.5.PL CRITICAL - Storages : Software - ISO Images is not accessible

Note : We are getting critical alerts for both fab-svvh02 and csd-svvh10 because datastore named Software is not accessible in both VM host.

we able to get values in other VM hosts.

what I might be the reason in fab-svvh02 and csd-svvh10 that datastore named Software is not accessible.

It's hard to say without knowing, but I want to believe the plugin is reporting correctly. How is Software mounted in comparison to CS1/CSD? There really isn't anything in the code that would make me think it's differentiated, other then it simply not being accessible. Are there specific permissions applied to Software at all?

Code: Select all

                elsif (uc($command) eq "VMFS")
                {
                        ($result, $output) = host_list_vm_volumes_info($esx, $np, $subcommand, $percc || $percw);
                }

                elsif (uc($command) eq "VMFS")
                {
                        ($result, $output) = dc_list_vm_volumes_info($np, $subcommand, $percc || $percw);
                }

Hi,

I just excluded the datastores Software & Software - ISO Images from the both VM hosts. Now status is showing OK.

Command as follow below

$USER1$/check_esx3-0.5.pl -H "$HOSTADDRESS$" -f "$ARG1$" -l "$ARG2$" -x "$ARG3$"

Are we good to mark this thread as resolved then, or do you have further questions?

Hi,

We are good and right now I don't have any questions. I will get back to you if I face any issue on this.

Thanks,
